Inspired by sound, emotion, movement and ritual; contemporary abstract artist Dawn Rudd creates with emotional honesty and passion. Born in Connecticut, nurtured by a family of musicians, writers, artists and educators, Dawn studied at UMASS/Amherst and Parsons School of Design in New York City before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. She is an Abstract Expressionist; a gestural painter, collagist and photographer using intricate layering, bold splashes of color and merging of images to create a unique urgency and intensity. Dawn is a synesthete, seeing sound as color and patterns. Her art can be found in collections throughout the United States.
