I am a full-time painter and sculptor. For sometime now, I have been focusing on the animal world and the impact humans have on that fragile world. I draw strongly upon my personal connections, including past experiences working with primates and my travels abroad to see animals in their natural habitats. However, I did not have to go far during the pandemic to see the fragility of life up close. I made walking Ocean beach a regular routine and with my camera tracked the wildlife washed up on shore. I made connections between human loss and wildlife loss and continued to explore the on-going theme of vanishing with a focus on sea life and trying new approaches as can be seen with the mixed media abstractions.
